SURPRISE---We're FISHING!

The kids have always wanted to go fishing, and I truly miss it (lots of great memories with my Daddy). So, for our trip to Myrtle Beach, Gary and I (under Jeremy's advice) decided to plan a surprise family fishing trip. The fun part was that we didn't tell the kids :-P They knew we had something planned, they suspected it involved a boat, but they had no clue that it was fishing until they saw Captain Ryan of Werner Ocean Adventures drive up to the pier with his fishing poles on his boat ;-) YAY!! We pulled it off! :-D
Part of the fun was just riding in the boat while Captain Ryan drove us to our destinations :-)
He stopped periodically to throw his nets out to catch bait fish for the trip. That was interesting :-)
 "Look, Mommy! Pelicans!" ;-)
The scenery was simply GORGEOUS! :-D
First, we stopped in more shallow waters to throw out some lines.
Christopher was the first to catch a fish :-)
All the kids caught a fish, but only Lydia's was big enough to bring home for dinner. The others were released to grow some more ;-)
Gary fished the entire morning but didn't catch anything :-(
Thanks, Honey, for having such a great attitude about it!
While on the way out to deeper waters, we checked Captain Ryan's crab traps and got some blue crabs :-) They were NOT happy!
Next, we head out to the jetty rocks to fish in the Atlantic Ocean!
I was the first to land a larger fish! Unfortunately, this 30# red drum was TOO big, and we had to release it :-( Sad day!
Jeremy really enjoyed the relaxation that fishing brings :-)
He also enjoyed reeling in dinner!! ;-)
This black drum was YUMMY!
Overall, a fun time was had by everyone!
Thanks, Captain Ryan! :-D
Gary enjoyed spending the evening cooking the crabs :-)
WOW!
Thanks, Gary, for an AMAZING dinner!
What a FUN day! :-D
