Letterboxing with the Homeschoolers!

We've been letterboxing for about 5 years not, and it's always fun to introduce friends to this wonderful family-friendly hobby :-D So, we were thrilled when the Heritage Homeschoolers wanted to plan a letterboxing field trip! We had a pre-planning meeting at our home a few weeks ago, and today was the day to start exploring! We had 3 families that joined in the fun :-)
We began the day at Lorton State Park searching for 2 boxes in the area. Here's a link to the boxes we were searching for.
There was a beautiful lake to hike around :-)
Even with MANY minds working hard to decipher the clues, paths, logs, stumps, etc., we couldn't find the 1st box :-(  However, we refused to give up! After a nice hike through the fall leaves, the kids persevered and SUCCESS...They found Box #2!! It was a lot of fun :-D Everyone loved "stamping-in".
Here's a pic of the kids that took on the challenge :-)
GOOFY PIC :-P
Can't wait until next time!
