This week we are enjoying a week of homeschooling at its best, as we take advantage of the "Homeschooler Experience" in Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown, VA. Learning becomes truly memorable when it becomes personal. I pray that the children will remember these days for a lifetime as we "walk through history".
On our first day, we decided to not over-do it and simply become familiar with the area. After checking in, we enjoyed an orientation walk through the streets of Colonial Williamsburg with a costumed interpreter.
The town is extremely well-preserved; it's easy to picture life the way it was back in the 1700s!
Historical Trivia: In June 1699, Virginia’s General Assembly voted to move the capital of Virginia from Jamestown to the small, inland settlement of Middle Plantation and rename it Williamsburg in honor of the king.

We are looking forward to a busy but FUN week!! We are blessed to have this historic area so close to our home...Being stationed in the DC Capital Region is proving to be AMAZING! :-D
